OH HEY! I’M NICK AND WELCOME TO
THE SEVENTY6!

And this guy next to me is my amazing pup, Quigley….or Quigs, Q, Quigsmonster, he’s got a lot of names to go by. When we are not working, we keep busy with cooking, design, hiking, and plants…so many plants.

I adopted Quigley back in September 2011 when he was 7 months old from the Lawrence Humane Society while I was a student at the University of Kansas. I kept his name that he had as his entire litter had QU names and I wanted him to always have a bit of his family with him. He was a mischievous little pup but even through the tearing holes in the carpet and chewing up the couch, I knew I had found my best friend.

My artistic side always came from my mother and after losing her in 2008 to colon cancer, I always found refuge in my creative practices as they so often remind me of her. She was a talented artist and baker who I am lucky enough to have gotten to call ‘Mom’. She will forever be missed for her bubbly personality and generous heart.

I decided to start to compile my passions into one place and share them out with the world. Hope you enjoy!

The Seventy6 is a blog meant to inspire, much like my mother did for me. The namesake Seventy6 stems from the year she graduated from high school. Inside the blog logo is the liberty bell with the inlay of the 76; a design that she made for the cover of her yearbook when she graduated.
